Privacy notice
Last updated 24 October 2026
This notice is from JumpDoc (“we”), based in Victoria, Australia, which runs the JumpDoc app. It explains what JumpDoc keeps about you, why, who else handles it, and how to get a copy or delete it. For questions or requests, email support@jumpdoc.app.
The short version
- JumpDoc keeps what you put into your projects, so it can interview you and write your documents. You can download or delete it at any time.
- To do that work, JumpDoc sends the parts of your project a task needs to an AI provider. No provider may train a model on it.
- JumpDoc counts how its screens are used without recording your words.
- JumpDoc learns from your projects only if you say yes, and then only from patterns, never from your words.
- We never sell your data, never show your projects to other people unless you share a link, and send no marketing email.
What JumpDoc keeps
- Your account: your email address, how you sign in, and your second factor if you turn it on. Passwords and recovery codes are kept only in a form that cannot be read back. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, JumpDoc uses only the email address they give.
- Your profile and settings, if you fill them in: your name, role, company, what you expect from JumpDoc, how you like it to talk to you, your engineering preferences, and your theme and email choices.
- Your projects: your answers, your notes and brain dump, your chats with JumpDoc, what it suggested and whether you accepted it, and the documents it wrote, with their earlier versions.
- Files you attach. Images are re-encoded, which removes hidden details such as where a photo was taken. A file that fails the safety check is deleted.
- Voice memos: the text. The recording is deleted once it is turned into text, unless you choose to keep it or it is needed to try again after a failure.
- Links you add: the address and the text JumpDoc read from the page.
- Billing: your plan, until when it runs, and Stripe's reference numbers. Your card goes to Stripe, never to JumpDoc. If you were invited to the beta, your email address and the group you were invited with (no-code beginners, vibe coders or founders) are kept by JumpDoc, so that address can create an account, and with your invitation code at Stripe.
- Usage records: for each AI request, the task, the model, its size, cost and time, never your words; and how many AI requests you made today, for the daily limit.
Other services that handle your data
Each of these handles your data only to provide its service to JumpDoc.
- Supabase (Sydney, Australia) stores your account, projects and files, and runs sign-in.
- Vercel runs the JumpDoc app in Sydney, Australia. Your connection may pass through the part of Vercel's network nearest to you.
- Fly.io (Sydney, Australia) checks every file you attach for malware before anything reads it, and keeps no copy.
- Stripe (Australia and the United States) takes payments for Pro and sends receipts. Stripe keeps billing records for as long as tax law requires.
- Resend (United States) sends JumpDoc's emails, such as “your data export is ready”.
- Sentry (United States) receives reports of errors so we can fix them. A report carries your account's ID number and where the error happened, never what you wrote or attached.
- Google and GitHub sign you in, if you choose them.
Connected accounts
A connected account is read only when you ask for it, and you can disconnect it at any time.
GitHub (Pro, for importing an existing codebase)
- What it reads
- Only when you import, and only from the repositories you allowed: the chosen repository's list of files and the few that describe it, such as its README, package manifests, database schema and migrations, route files and example environment files (up to 300 files).
- What it writes
- Nothing. JumpDoc's access to GitHub is read-only, and it never changes your repositories.
- What JumpDoc stores
- What it found, not the files: the names of the packages, tables and fields, routes and environment variables (never their values) and the start of the README, with the repository's name, the commit and the paths of the files read. Also your GitHub username and account number, and the access token, encrypted, which is never sent to your browser, put in an AI request or logged.
- What else it reaches
- The files are checked for malware by Fly.io, and what was found goes to an AI provider to suggest answers about your stack, data and integrations, which stay marked as suggestions until you confirm them.
- Disconnecting
- In Account settings, Connected accounts. JumpDoc revokes its token at GitHub and deletes it. What you imported stays in your project, and your GitHub username stays with the past connection until you delete your account.
Open in (Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Cursor) is not a connection: your browser opens the builder with your document's prompt in the address and copies it to your clipboard, so the prompt goes from your browser to that builder, under the builder's own privacy terms. JumpDoc records only which builder you chose.
Links you add are read once by JumpDoc's server, with no cookies or sign-in, so the site sees a visit from JumpDoc, not from you.
API keys (Pro) let the jumpdoc command-line tool and other coding tools read your projects and documents; they cannot change anything. JumpDoc keeps each key only in a form that cannot be read back.
Analytics
JumpDoc records how its screens are used, so we can see which questions confuse people and where they stop. Each record says what happened, such as a question skipped, a section opened or a document generated, with JumpDoc's own IDs for the question, section or term, counts and times. It never holds your answers, notes, idea or files.
Records are linked to the project and to a code made from your account's ID with a secret key, not to your name or email address, and are deleted after 24 months. They are part of running JumpDoc, so they are kept whether or not you say yes to learning from your projects. JumpDoc uses no outside analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Learning from your projects
This is off unless you say yes, which JumpDoc asks once and you can change in Account settings. If you say yes, JumpDoc learns patterns from your projects, such as which suggested features people building a habit tracker usually add, so it asks everyone better questions.
What it keeps:
- Which of JumpDoc's own questions and suggestions you answered, added or turned down, by their ID
- Your project's product category and platforms
- The kind of note no question covered, such as “integration”, but never what it says
What it never keeps:
- Your answers, notes, idea, files, names or project name
- Anything that would let another person see your idea
A pattern is used only once at least 20 projects of the same kind show it, and a person reviews every change before anyone sees it. No AI model is trained on your projects. You can change your mind at any time in Account settings, and deleting a project deletes what it added.
Who can see your projects
- Only you, unless you make a share link (Pro). Anyone with the link can read the documents it covers and the project's name, until it expires or you revoke it.
- JumpDoc never shows your project's text to other people, whatever you choose. Taking the names out of an idea does not make it anonymous, so JumpDoc never reuses ideas, answers or notes for anyone else.
- People who run JumpDoc do not read your projects, except when you ask for help with one, or when it is needed to keep JumpDoc secure or to meet the law.
- We never sell your data. We disclose it only where the law requires us to.
On your device
JumpDoc sets only the cookies it needs: to keep you signed in (for up to 30 days), to finish signing up or changing your password, and to connect GitHub. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your browser also keeps your theme, drafts and changes not yet saved, answers given offline, and usage records waiting to be sent. If you install JumpDoc, it keeps the pages you opened for offline use, and clears them when you sign out.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
- Your projects and account are kept until you delete them. Deleting a project deletes it at once, with its files, documents, share links and learning patterns; archiving one only puts it away.
- Deleting your account, in Account settings, Your data, deletes everything in it at once and ends a Pro subscription (see the terms). Copies in our backups age out within 30 days.
- Afterwards, usage records and analytics stay, linked to nobody, and analytics are deleted after 24 months. Stripe keeps billing records as the law requires, and error reports age out of Sentry within 90 days.
- You can download all your data first, in Account settings, Your data: a ZIP of your projects, notes, chats, documents and files.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw a consent at any time. You can do most of this yourself in Account settings; for anything else, email support@jumpdoc.app and we will answer within 30 days.
Where the European or UK GDPR applies, we use your data to provide the service you signed up for, to keep JumpDoc secure and improve it with the content-free analytics above (our legitimate interests), with your consent for learning from your projects, and to meet legal duties.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or to your own country's data protection authority. A business can ask us for a data processing addendum.
Where your data is
Your data is stored in Sydney, Australia. The AI providers, Stripe, Resend and Sentry are in the United States, so the part each one needs leaves Australia. We use them under terms that protect it.
Keeping it safe
Every request is checked against who you are, so nobody else can reach your projects. Connection tokens are encrypted, every file is checked for malware, and you can turn on a second factor. No system is perfectly safe: if a breach is likely to harm you, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Your part
You must be 16 or older to use JumpDoc. Only add what you are allowed to share: leave out other people's personal data and confidential documents you have no right to share.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice whenever JumpDoc changes what it keeps or who handles it, such as a new AI provider or connected account, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is used, we will tell you before it applies.
